WhatsApp launches voice message transcription feature
Meta’s popular messaging app, WhatsApp, is set to introduce a new feature allowing users to personalize their chats with vibrant colors. This update moves away from the traditional dark green theme, offering a fresh look for conversations.
According to Wabetainfo, the new feature will be part of the WhatsApp for iOS 24.20.71 update. Users will have access to 20 different colors for chat themes, making a total of 22 unique themes available for customization.
Within the app settings, users can choose a default chat theme for all conversations or set different themes for specific chats, such as personal, work, or group discussions. The app will also automatically select a wallpaper to match the chosen color, ensuring a cohesive appearance.
Importantly, any changes made will only apply to the user’s device, meaning others in the conversation won’t see the same theme changes.
Currently, this feature is available to a limited number of users through the App Store and TestFlight app for those in the beta program. The broader rollout is expected in the coming weeks, allowing more iOS users to enjoy a more personalized messaging experience.
This move by WhatsApp reflects its ongoing efforts to enhance user engagement and provide a more tailored chat experience.
