Apple reportedly developing TV and wall-mounted tablet

Apple is reportedly working on a dedicated Apple TV, marking a potential new chapter in its smart home and entertainment portfolio. According to Mark Gurman’s “Power On” newsletter, the tech giant is also exploring other smart home devices, including a wall-mounted tablet.

This isn’t Apple’s first foray into the TV market. In the past, the company designed full-scale prototypes of televisions with large displays, resembling oversized iPads or Macs.

However, after evaluating the market’s potential, Apple opted not to pursue mass production, primarily due to the high costs and limited consumer interest in premium TVs.

In 2019, rumors surfaced about Apple reviving its television ambitions, but the company instead focused on expanding its app and streaming services for TVs made by other manufacturers.

If the reports are accurate, the new Apple TV could signal a shift in strategy, integrating with the company’s broader ecosystem of devices and services. Combined with other potential offerings like a wall-mounted tablet, it may further solidify Apple’s position in the smart home and entertainment market.

While no official announcement has been made, these developments highlight Apple’s ongoing efforts to innovate and expand its influence in high-tech consumer electronics.
