DJI has launched the Mic Mini, the latest addition to its wireless lavalier microphone lineup. Smaller than its predecessors, the Mic and Mic 2, the Mic Mini offers enhanced features and improved battery life while maintaining a compact design.

What’s Included in the Mic Mini Set

The Mic Mini kit comes with two lightweight wireless transmitters that can be attached to clothing using either magnetic or clip-on attachments. Designed to be discreet, the transmitters also include attachable windscreens for better performance in windy environments.

Paired with these transmitters is a wireless receiver that connects to devices such as cameras, smartphones, tablets, and computers via a USB-C or 3.5mm TRS connector. It even supports charging for both the transmitter and the connected device when plugged into a smartphone.

Direct Pairing and Noise-Canceling Features

The transmitters can directly pair with smartphones or tablets using Bluetooth. Additionally, they can connect seamlessly to DJI Osmo devices like the Osmo Action 4 Pro, Osmo Action 4, or Osmo Pocket 3 without needing the receiver.

The Mic Mini boasts a two-level noise-canceling system:

  • Basic Mode: Ideal for indoor recordings to minimize ambient noise.
  • Strong Mode: Suited for outdoor environments with more significant noise interference.

Other features include automatic volume limiting to prevent audio clipping and the option to record a safety track 6dB quieter than the main track for backup.

Battery Life and Pricing

The receiver supports dual transmitters, enabling recordings as separate or combined mono/stereo tracks. Both transmitters and the receiver can be recharged with the included charging case, offering 48 hours of total usage. Each transmitter lasts 11.5 hours, while the receiver runs for 10.5 hours per charge.

The standard kit is priced at $169 and includes the charging case. A base kit with one transmitter and receiver costs $89, while extra transmitters and Lightning adapters are available for $59 and $19, respectively.

The DJI Mic Mini is now available for purchase on the DJI website and other retailers.
