iPhone SE 4: Apple’s Best Budget iPhone Yet?
Apple is gearing up to launch the next-generation iPhone SE 4, promising to offer a significant leap in both performance and design while maintaining its reputation as the most affordable iPhone in the lineup. Set to launch in early 2025, the new model will feature groundbreaking upgrades, including Apple’s latest A18 chip and a complete design overhaul.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be powered by the A18 chip, the same processor that will drive the upcoming iPhone 16. This powerful new chipset will bring advanced AI capabilities to the SE 4, enhancing features such as Siri, smart photo editing tools, and improved writing functionalities, thanks to Apple Intelligence. These upgrades will make it Apple’s most affordable iPhone to date with access to its cutting-edge software features.
In a major design departure from previous models, the iPhone SE 4 will likely adopt a more modern aesthetic, ditching the iconic home button for a sleeker, buttonless look. The device will sport a larger 6.1-inch OLED display, a significant upgrade from the SE 3’s 4.7-inch LCD, delivering brighter, more vibrant visuals. Additionally, the iPhone SE 4 will introduce Face ID technology, replacing the older Touch ID system, offering users a faster and more secure unlocking experience.
The iPhone SE 4 will also feature a dramatic upgrade to its camera system. The rear camera will shift from the current 12-megapixel single sensor to a 48-megapixel sensor, delivering sharper images, better low-light performance, and enhanced capabilities like Smart HDR and Night Mode. The front camera will also be upgraded to 12 megapixels, ensuring better selfies and improved video call quality, catering to the growing demand for high-quality front-facing cameras for social media and remote work.
Battery life is set for a major improvement in the SE 4, which will be equipped with a larger 3,279mAh battery—up from the 2,018mAh in the SE 3. This change is expected to result in longer battery life, allowing users to power through the day without worrying about frequent recharges. Additionally, in line with new European Union regulations, the iPhone SE 4 will feature USB-C charging, making it more compatible with a wider range of devices and offering a faster 20W charging speed.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be priced between $499 and $549 in the U.S., a slight increase over the SE 3’s starting price of $429. The price hike reflects the significant upgrades in performance and design. In India, the SE 4 is likely to be priced between Rs 45,000 and Rs 50,000, aligning with the original price of the SE 3, making it an attractive option for those looking for premium features on a budget.
With these upgrades, the iPhone SE 4 is shaping up to be the best budget iPhone Apple has ever released, offering users an affordable yet powerful entry into the world of Apple’s latest technology. Production is expected to begin in December 2024, with a global release slated for April 2025.
