Google CEO Sundar Pichai has revealed plans for one of the most significant transformations in the history of Google Search. Speaking at the DealBook Summit, Pichai announced that by 2025, AI-powered enhancements will make search faster, smarter, and more intuitive.

Pichai emphasized that these updates aim to revolutionize how users interact with and discover information. He noted that some of these capabilities will be visible as early as 2025. Recent advancements include AI-driven summary generation and improved video search features via Google Lens. Additionally, Google plans to upgrade its Gemini model, which powers various AI tools currently used by over a billion people worldwide.

Addressing competition with companies like Microsoft and OpenAI, Pichai highlighted Google’s reliance on advanced AI technologies such as BERT and MUM, asserting their superiority in complex applications.

A significant focus was also placed on the fair use of online content. Pichai discussed Google’s licensing agreements with platforms like Reddit and The New York Times and hinted at a potential future marketplace where content creators could be compensated for allowing AI systems to train on their work.

In an era of overwhelming information, Pichai believes search tools are more critical than ever. With these AI-driven transformations, Google aims to stay at the forefront of innovation and continue simplifying how people access information.
