WhatsApp, the popular messaging platform, is reportedly working on a new feature that will allow users to directly share messages, photos, videos, and GIFs with other applications without the need to save or re-upload media files.

According to reports, this enhancement will expand WhatsApp’s media-sharing capabilities, enabling smoother content management across various platforms. The update, anticipated in the upcoming beta version, will integrate a new bottom-bar interface, making it easier to forward content to apps such as Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Snapchat, and more.

In addition to simplifying content sharing, the feature will also streamline the process of posting stories on Meta platforms. Users will be able to share photos and videos directly from WhatsApp chats into their stories.

The update is expected to include a “More” option, allowing users to share media files with non-Meta platforms as well. To boost the visibility of WhatsApp channels, the application will generate special links for updates shared from channels, facilitating broader dissemination.

While this feature is still in the development phase, it is likely to be introduced in the beta version soon. However, the timeline for its complete development, testing, and public rollout remains uncertain.

If successfully implemented, this cross-platform sharing feature will provide users with a seamless experience, eliminating the need to manually download media files for sharing across multiple applications.
