ChatGPT down: Users worldwide unable to access AI chatbot

ChatGPT, the widely-used AI-powered chatbot, is currently facing significant disruptions, leaving users unable to engage in conversations or access their chat history.

According to Downdetector, a web monitoring platform, a surge in outage reports was observed around 7:22 am EST. The reports indicate that 91% of users are facing issues with the app, 8% are unable to access the website, and 1% are struggling with data analysis functionality.

A Downdetector chart highlights a sharp rise in ChatGPT-related problem reports over the past 24 hours.

In addition to ChatGPT, users have reported issues with other OpenAI services, suggesting potential downtime for the company’s GPT-4o and GPT-4o mini models in Pakistan and other parts of the world.

OpenAI has acknowledged the outage, updating their status to “identified.” The company stated that it is actively investigating the issue and working on a solution, with a fix expected to be implemented soon.

The disruptions have left users worldwide waiting for full functionality to be restored.
