iPhone 17 expected to introduce curved frame in major design shift

Apple is reportedly preparing a significant design update for its upcoming iPhone 17 series. Leaks indicate that the company plans to abandon the “step” design, where the frame and glass meet at an angular curve. Instead, the frame and back glass are expected to seamlessly “slope” into one another, offering an improved in-hand feel and enhanced portability.

This potential change, derived from a machine-translated leak, suggests Apple could be moving away from the angular design first introduced with the iPhone 12 lineup. The smoother transition between frame and glass is anticipated to deliver a sleeker, more ergonomic design.

Limited to Pro Models?
It remains unclear if this design update will extend to the entire iPhone 17 lineup or remain exclusive to the Pro models. Given Apple’s history of reserving new features for its premium variants, the latter seems likely.

Rumors About Camera Visor

In addition to the redesigned frame, speculation surrounds the iPhone 17 Pro’s camera module. Early leaks suggested Apple may replace the familiar camera island with a new “camera visor.” However, conflicting reports cast doubt on this rumor, leaving uncertainty about the final design.

As with most leaks, these details are unconfirmed. Apple has yet to reveal any official information about the iPhone 17 series, and fans will have to wait until the official launch for further clarity.
