The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced its decision to discontinue its website and transfer all services to its mobile application. According to Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Pak-ID website will officially go offline on January 17.

This move addresses concerns regarding fraudulent websites that have been used to produce forged identity documents and misuse citizens’ personal data. Minister Naqvi highlighted that the website’s cumbersome process, particularly for uploading scanned fingerprints and documents, created challenges for users, including overseas Pakistanis.

The Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Foreign Affairs have taken strict notice of these fraudulent activities. NADRA is working closely with other institutions to ensure action against the offenders.

To enhance service accessibility, NADRA has significantly upgraded its mobile app, enabling citizens to manage services such as ID cards, NICOP, POC, B-Forms, and FRCs directly from their homes.

In addition to this shift, NADRA plans to open three new regional offices in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan by March 31. These centers aim to improve communication and service delivery in remote areas, ensuring quicker resolution of citizens’ concerns and complaints.

Currently, NADRA lacks offices in 19 tehsils nationwide. Minister Naqvi assured that efforts are underway to establish these offices, with operations expected to begin by March 31.
