The indigenously developed EO-1 satellite represents a major milestone in the country’s space technology advancements. It aims to enhance Pakistan’s ability to monitor natural resources, predict and respond to disasters, support food security, and promote sustainable development, ultimately boosting economic growth.

The EO-1 satellite is equipped to deliver impactful contributions across multiple sectors. In agriculture, it will enable precision farming by monitoring crop conditions, assessing irrigation needs, and predicting yields. These capabilities will also bolster food security initiatives.

For urban development, the satellite will aid in tracking infrastructure growth, managing urban sprawl, and supporting effective city planning. Its role in environmental monitoring includes providing critical updates on natural disasters like floods, landslides, and earthquakes and addressing issues like deforestation and land erosion.

Additionally, the satellite will enhance natural resource management by monitoring minerals, oil and gas fields, glacier movements, and water resources.

The EO-1 satellite’s launch marks a significant step forward in Pakistan’s space journey, reflecting the nation’s commitment to integrating advanced space technology for sustainable progress in line with the National Space Policy.
