WhatsApp is testing a new feature that works like voicemail for its calls. The update, seen in the beta version 2.25.23.21 for Android, was reported by WABetaInfo.
With this feature, if a WhatsApp voice call is not answered, users will now see a “Record voice message” option along with the usual “Call again” and “Cancel” buttons. This allows the caller to quickly send an audio message to the person they were trying to reach without leaving the call screen.
The “Record voice message” button will also show up in the chat of the person who missed the call, making it easier to use. While WhatsApp already allows sending voice messages through the mic icon in chats, this new option removes extra steps, making it faster and simpler.
This feature is especially helpful when you need to leave an urgent message for someone. Currently, it is available only to certain beta testers on Android, and WhatsApp or Meta have not announced when it might be released for everyone.
