Fierce Cricket Rivals in Twitter Spat over Kashmir

Former Cricket fierce rivals Shahid Khan Afridi and Gautam Gambhir had a harsh exchange of words on Twitter after New Delhi’s explosive decision to revoke Kashmir’s autonomous status.

Shahid Afridi took to Twitter and urged President Donald Trump to act as arbitrator, also he called for the United Nations’ intervention on Kashmir after Indian Government illegally demolished Article 370, which allowed Kashmir to have its own constitution, flag, and rights.

Afridi also raised question on United Nations role and said why the UN was created and why it sleeping? One must take notice of the ongoing aggression and crimes against humanity in Kashmir.

Indian player turned politician Gautam Gambhir, responded in a sarcastic and harsh manner.

Gautam Gambhir adopted the derogatory attitude and called Afridi a son and said, “Don’t worry, son, we will solve it soon.”

The Indian government on Monday revoked Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Occupying administration has imposed a curfew in occupied Kashmir, suspended telephone and internet services, and detained the local leadership.

According to the Constitution of India, Article 370 provides provisions regarding special autonomy to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

As per Article 35A, a person cannot acquire any immovable proper in Kashmir if he or she is not a permanent resident of the region.

Article 370 guarantees special status to Kashmir region, restricting the Indian state’s legislative powers.

Pakistan had strongly condemned the unprecedented New Delhi’s move to revoke Kashmir’s special status.

In a statement by Foreign Office issued this week on Monday, it said that “Pakistan will exercise all possible options to counter the illegal steps.”
