Saudi Government celebrated International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, in the opening speech Mr Awwad bin Saleh thanked to King Salman for taking historic decisions.

President of the Human Rights Commission, Awwad Bin Saleh Al Awwad addressed to the event and praised King Salman for taking the historical decisions against women violation.

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the issue of violence against women and its effects were discussed.

The Human Rights Commission today is holding a seminar to discuss the issue of violence against women and its effects, and to seek mechanisms to reduce this phenomenon, which violates its rights, Al Awwad tweeted.

The Saudi Government held a seminar on International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on today.

President of the Human Rights Commission also informed that 22 out of 60 Human Rights decisions were about Women’s Rights.

Feminism is not a crime in Saudi Arabia, confirms HRC

Earlier in this month, The presidency of state security denied a local newspaper report that mentioned that women are given severe punishments, especially in jail, including flogging.

According to international media sources, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) issued a statement in which they mentioned that the report published is not true.

Human Rights Commission (HRC) confirmed the fact that feminism is not a crime in Saudi Arabia. They also pointed out the fact that quality actions are being taken to boost women’s empowerment in the country.
