Twitterati have been expressing outrage on social media and demanding death penalty for rapists in order to make Pakistan positive.

The National Assembly approved the Zainab Alert Response and Recovery Act 2019

Through which minimum life imprisonment for offenses against children will be 10 years while 14 years maximum.

Helpline 1099 will set up.

According to the bill, Zainab Alert Response and Recovery will be set up for the emergency reporting of child abuse of age under 18.

An officer who does not respond to crimes against a child within two hours may also be punished.

The missing child will be notified immediately at the helpline.

The bill also demanded the public hanging of Victims of child abuse.

Meanwhile, Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari opposed death sentence for criminals involved in sexual assaults on children, the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Interior was told.

Nafeesa Khattak Inayatullah Khan says Bilawal insisted on life term for such criminals.

She told the committee that Bilawal insisted on life term for criminals involved in child abuse.

It is to be noted that Bilawal is a chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Human Rights.

Meanwhile in Turkey a new law named ‘marry your rapist’ has been proposed in Turkey is in the debate these days.

The law will allegedly allow men blamed for harassing women under 18 years of age to be free of punishment if they marry their victims.

“Marry your rapist” bill has faced immense criticism even before it was passed in Turkey.

The United Nations has opposed the bill and has warned that the law will make the rapists more confident and they will commit a crime without the fear of punishments.

However, the bill was not passed as it received global disapproval.
