Tawaaf has been resumed on the Mataaf. A small gathering of people has been allowed to perform Tawaaf and another ritual.

The decision has been announced on Twitter in which it was also said that a protection structure has been put near the Holy Kaaba. People will not be allowed to go near the Holy Kaaba.

Earlier, Historic Moment witnessed in Saudi Arabia as circling (Tawaaf) around Khana-e-Kaaba stopped temporarily for sterilization over fears of the novel coronavirus.

State television relayed stunning images of an empty white-tiled area surrounding the Khana-e-Kaaba usually packed with thousands of pilgrims.

Saudi Officials said The move was a “temporary preventive measure” but the upper floors of the Grand Mosque were still open for prayers.

Social media also flooded with thousands of images of Empty Kaaba as the users responded in shock writing that it was the first time they have ever seen the Kaaba empty.
