The word “TikToker” has been officially recognized as a real-word by the Collins Dictionary. The word is defined as “someone who shares content on the social media platform TikTok”.

TikTok is a Chinese-owned app that is used for creating and sharing short videos. In 2016, it was initially launched in China as Douyin, but in the same year, the application was relaunched by ByteDance for markets outside of China.

Even in Pakistan, the video-sharing app is one of the popular social media apps. According to reports, the app has been installed 43 million, with 14.7 million of those coming in the year 2020 alone.

Other than TikToker, the dictionary had added many words taken from social media including‘BLM’, ‘Mukbang’, and ‘Megixt.
