US Senator Bernie Sanders attended President Joe Biden’s inauguration Ceremony on 20th January 2021. He grabbed attention on social media because of the way he was sitting in the ceremony.

Bernie Sanders is an advocate of fair wages and a former presidential candidate.

During the inauguration ceremony, he was spotted wearing a ‘grandpa jacket’ and a jacket. His mittens grabbed attention on the internet. He was seen calmly sitting cross-legged alone, maintaining a social distance from others.

Social media platforms were flooded with hilarious memes as content creators edit his photo to place them in unusual places.

However, Bernie Sanders finally responded to the memes. He said,

“I was just sitting there trying to keep warm, trying to pay attention to what was going on,” Sanders said during an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Thursday.

Meyers also showed some memes. Sanders reacted to them and said, “What was really nice Seth is the woman who made the mittens … she is a schoolteacher [and] is a very very nice person. And she’s been somewhat overwhelmed by the kind of attention that is being shown to her mittens.”
