Lady of Heaven: Court calls on Information Ministry

Islamabad High Court has called on the ministry of information and broadcasting regarding the ban on the Netflix movie ‘Lady of heaven’.

As per the details, the court has also called on the federal government and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to submit their responses.

Islamabad High Court judge Amir Farooq heard the case filed by the Shuhada Foundation Of Pakistan. Advocate Tariq Asad presented before the court on behalf of the foundation.

It was requested to completely ban Netflix for uploading sacrilegious content.

It was also requested that Google, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter must be directed to open their franchise in Pakistan within six months. “Companies who are not opening their franchise in Pakistan must be banned”, requested the petitioner.

PTA moves to block Lady of Heaven

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has approached several social media platforms to block the trailer of film Lady of Heaven.

Lady of Heaven is based on the story of an Iraqi child who learns the importance and power of patience. After losing his mother, he finds himself in a new home, where his loving grandmother narrates the historical story of Lady Fatima (AS) and how her suffering as the first victim of terrorism spun out of control into the 21st century.

PTA has moved to block content in the country pertaining to what it termed the “sacrilegious” film
