A woman has reportedly been fined by police after being caught out after curfew in Quebec, Canada, walking her partner on a leash like a dog.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues, many places around the world are introducing tougher restrictions in a bid to reduce the spread of the virus. In Quebec, Canada, a four-week-long curfew has been implemented. It requires residents to stay in their homes from 8pm until 5am in the mornings.

As with all restrictions, there are a few exemptions to the rule – for essential workers who need to travel and also for those who need to walk their dogs.

One woman reportedly attempted to use the latter exemption for her own benefit on Saturday evening, shortly after the curfew came into effect.

It is reported that the woman was fined after being stopped on King Street East in Sherbrooke, walking her partner on a leash.

They claim the woman told police she was just out “walking her dog”.

The Sherbrooke police department reported that the couple did not cooperate with them.

“Statements of violation of the municipal by-law were given to them. The lady affirmed that she would not pay the ticket and even that she would accumulate them. ”

“The amount of findings for recidivism can go up to $6,000.”
