Twitter is raging with students advocating for the cancellation of board exams this year following the deadly third COVID-19 wave across the country.

Students are demanding to cancel board exams 2021 amidst their disturbed learning schedules.

The ministers for education are stuck between a rock and a hard place; as students and celebrities take to social media to voice their opinions.

Several students are also demonstrating on the streets so that the government take proper notice of their demands.

#ExamCancelHoga, #cancelboardexams2021 and #Shafqat Mehmood is trending top on Twitter as social media users and students are quite concerned amidst the sharp rise of COVID-19 cases.

Singer Asim Azhar also jumped to the bandwagon and voiced his support over exams cancellation.

He took to Twitter to request the cancellation of exams for Pakistani students.

“It would be unfair to hold exams in such circumstances. Please find a solution”, the singer pleaded to education minister Shafqat Mahmood.

He further added, “Students have really been disturbed due to the ongoing pandemic causing the institutes to close/open again & again. I personally know some students that haven’t been able to complete their syllabuses as well. Please kuch karain aur bacho ka saath dain.”

In another tweet, the Ghalat Fehmi singer said that he definitely understands what the students are going through as he would have felt the same. He also expressed his hope that Shafqat Mahmood will stand with the youth & find the best solution possible.

On the other hand, the A and O level students AO are protesting on Mall Road, Lahore against the cancellation of exams for this year.

The students are demanding the Cambridge International Board of Education postpone exams.

Moreover, a student claimed: “Exams have been cancelled in all countries, including the UK, Bangladesh, Qatar, UAE and Greece and the exams for O-level and A-level are held simultaneously globally.”

Earlier in 2020, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood had announced the cancellation of all board exams across the country following the spread of the Coronavirus outbreak.

“All board exams have been cancelled and students of class 9, 10, 11, and 12 will be promoted for the next class on the basis of results obtained in the previous class,” he had added.
