In the shocking incident, a mother and her two children died after a mobile in their house exploded. The incident took place in Tamil Nadu’s Karur.

Muthulakshmi ,29, had her mobile on charging and was on a call with someone. After disconnecting the call, the mobile is reported to have exploded. The explosion led to her catching fire and her two kids died of asphyxiation. Her children were three and two years old.

All three of them were rushed to the hospital but succumbed to injuries.

The woman and her husband Balakrishnan, 31, got married six years back and were settled in Karur for the last few years. The couple was running a food stall, and after debt increased, Balakrishnan is said to have abandoned the family.

Muthulakshmi was single-handedly taking care of the family and the coronavirus pandemic had affected her income.

Police investigation on the matter is underway.
