A TikTok user claims she narrowly avoided a “catfish” by noticing a minor detail in his photos.

The woman, who goes by the handle @queenoffirstdates, revealed that she believes she discovered a bogus profile on the dating app Hinge.

She showed a screen recording of a match she had with a man allegedly named David at the start of the TikTok video.

However, the woman was unimpressed when messages appeared in a green bubble after they exchanged phone numbers.

She claimed he was a catfish because she noticed an Apple Watch in his profile photos.

If they’d both been using Apple’s iOS, the messages would have appeared in blue rather than green.

She responded to his initial text with, “Out of curiosity, how recent are your photos on Hinge?”

He informed her that they were all “from last year,” and she inquired whether he preferred Apple or Android.

“I like iOS system,” he replied.

“Why do you ask me that?”

“I think you’re a catfish,” she said, knowing the messages would be in blue bubbles if they were both using iOS.

“Stay vigilant, Queen,” she said in a text overlay on the TikTok video.

Hinge has been contacted for comment.

It’s not the first time a user of a dating app has been accused of being a catfish for the same reason.
