A video of a man sleeping with two cheetahs is making the rounds on the internet. The video shows a man named Dolph Volker petting two cheetahs. The video, which was shot at a cheetah breeding centre in Bloemfontein, South Africa, is sure to make your jaw drop.

The video, which was first shared in 2019, depicts Volker’s experience as a volunteer at the cheetah breeding centre. In the video, two cheetahs named Juno and Gabriel can be seen.

Do cheetahs prefer cold concrete or cosy blankets and company? These captive cheetahs were bred and born in South African cheetah breeding centres, one of which is the Cheetah Experience. They’re all quite tame because they’ve been groomed for the breeding programme, so when they have cubs, they can be closely monitored. That is made possible by a mother who is accepting and approachable. In the near future, one of these cheetahs will be released into a protected wildlife area. “I was given special permission to spend my nights with the three because I had watched them grow up and built a relationship with them through previous volunteering,” he explained in the caption.

Thousands of people have watched the video. However, a rumour spread on social media in January 2021 that the video was shot in Rajasthan, India.

According to a Reuters fact-check, the video was shot in South Africa, and the cheetahs were cared for and raised by Volker. That’s why, whenever he returned to the spot, the cheetahs never failed to recognise him and cuddle him while he slept.
