Buffaloes are known to be one of lions’ favourite foods. Because buffaloes are large animals with a lot of flesh, if lions can hunt one, they won’t have to hunt for another five days. A buffalo, on the other hand, is a difficult prey for lionesses who hunt for their pride. While hunting, we’ve seen lionesses being thrown into the air or frightened away by a herd of buffaloes.

A video of a couple lionesses attempting to hunt a buffalo caught behind his herd has gone viral on social media. A herd of buffaloes is seen in the corner of a woodland, with one of the buffaloes attempting to climb on the area, according to an Instagram video.

A lioness approaches a buffalo that isn’t paying attention and attempts to catch it with its jaws. The other lionesses that are hunting with her try to assist her, but they flee when the entire herd of buffaloes arrives to save their friend. They frighten the lionesses away, and the buffalo who had become stuck manages to re-join his herd.
