The temperature has risen significantly in sections of Europe that are experiencing a severe heatwave as a result of wildfires blazing throughout Portugal, Spain, France, Greece, and Croatia.

In the midst of this, the UK has been suffering from sweltering temperatures that have reached 40 degrees Celsius.

As a result, individuals’ daily lives have been disrupted as incidences of damaged train signals have been reported.

National Railways tweeted photographs of molten train signalling equipment to illustrate the dire situation.

“We’re also asking you to check your journeys before travelling on the East Coast Main Line today because we expect severe disruption. We’re repairing the line after a fire on the route between Peterborough and London King’s Cross,” as stated in the caption.

In a second tweet, a user named George Fouracres showed how the oppressive heat caused fire sprinklers to go off inside a building.

“When global warming sets off your thatched roof’s anti-Puritan/cannonfire sprinklers,” he wrote.

Due to the Met Office’s prediction that the temperature could exceed 40 degrees Celsius for the first time in the country, a two-day state of emergency has been proclaimed.
