A little boy interrupted Pope Francis’ weekly message to the faithful on Wednesday. The audience was surprised by the boy’s move, which happened while the Pope was silently helping the pontiff deliver his message about how young people should treat older people.

“The alliance between the elderly and children will save the human family,” In his prepared remarks, the Pope said. As if on cue, the boy ran quietly up the stairs to the Pope’s side and stood with wide eyes at the Pope’s knee for the rest of the audience, barely moving.

The boy can’t seem to know when the Pope asked him his name in Italian and told him to sit down. “In the audience, we started talking about how old and young people can talk to each other. “Eh?” the Pope asked, and the crowd, which included a long line of young newlyweds, cheered.

The kid stood with the Pope until the end of the audience, when a Vatican staffer brought him to a woman in the back row.

Officials at the Vatican said they really can not say the boy’s name or where he was from because he was a minor.
