Recently, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook about a call they got from a zoo. They also talked about why they didn’t understand the call. There’s a chance that you’ll laugh when you hear the whole story.

“Our county deputies have seen their fair share of “monkey business.” But nothing like this before. It all started when we got a disconnected 911 call on Saturday night. Dispatchers tried to call back and send a text message, but no one answered. So they sent deputies to look into it. The address led them to Zoo to You’s offices near Paso Robles. “No one had called from there,” they wrote. In the next few lines, they talk about what their research has shown. It turned out that Route, a Capuchin monkey, made the call.

“It seems that Route had picked up the zoo’s cell phone, which was in the zoo’s golf cart, which is used to get around the 40-acre site. People have told us that Capuchin monkeys are very curious and will just grab anything and start pushing buttons. And that’s what Route did. It just so happened that the numbers were in the right order to call us,” they said.

“These pictures show that Route is a little embarrassed about the whole thing. But you can’t really blame her. After all, if a monkey sees something and does it, you can’t blame the monkey.”

Since it was shared a day ago, it has gotten more than 1,500 likes, and that number is only going to go up. People have also written different comments about the share. “That’s too funny,” someone wrote on Facebook. “Fantastic story. “Maybe he just wanted someone to talk to,” said someone else. A third said, “This is my favourite post of the day!! “OMG, that’s so funny!” wrote a fourth.
