On the invitation, the bride and groom are listed as Dr Sandesh Medicine Ltd and Dr Divya Anaesthesia Ltd. “Invitation of Precious Occasion” is a pun on the phrase “Initial Public Offering” (IPO). “Given the synergies of the merger, the merged entities shall be listed in compliance with the regulatory norms (Hindu tradition),” the card states.

Friends and family are called “retail investors,” and the wedding is called a “listing ceremony.” Several of the event’s rituals were also given a stock market twist.
