No matter if you enjoy math or not, you must have utilized the BODMAS rule to answer a variety of mathematical expressions and equations in school. And there is no comparison for the satisfaction of correctly solving the equation. Is it not? An online arithmetic puzzle recently appeared, and it has been going around on social media for a few days. Some struggled to figure out the right response, but others were fast to solve it using the BODMAS rule they had learnt in school.

The user going by the handle Benonwine shared the brainteaser on Twitter without a caption. The popular brainteaser depicts beverages, hamburgers, and fries, all of which have monetary worth. To solve it successfully, you must determine the correct values that each of the elements carries and then use the BODMAS rule.

BODMAS is for Bracket, Of, Division, Multiplication, Addition, and Subtraction for those who are unfamiliar. It explains the proper order to answer a given mathematical expression.

Look at the brain teaser below:

The tweet has received more than 41,700 views since it was tweeted on January 9 and the numbers are continuously rising. Additionally, the share has drawn a lot of comments.

What was said in the comments is as follows:

“Drink is worth 10. Burger is worth 5. Fries are worth 1. The calculation is 5 + 1 x 10 but taking BODMAS (or the equivalent) into account, you would multiply first and add second so 5 + (1 x 10) brings the total to 15…,” wrote one user.  “I’d say 25. Been caught out by these equations before. Need to multiply chips and coke first then add a burger. 2×10 = 20 then add 5,” said another.  “25. Order of operations,” another person added.
