Read Viral: Man surprises world by breaking world record without idea

  • Scott Welsh and Alan Falle had no idea they had broken a world record.
  • Their 3 hours 48 minutes 12 second run was unusual because of their clothing.
  • Instead of wearing athletic attire, they were both dressed as ice cream.

In order to tell Scott that he was the best in the world at something and to lavishly reward him, Alan secretly submitted an application to Guinness World Records.

Alan and Scott met through football, according to the official website of Guinness World Records. They had previously competed for opposing clubs, but they became close after Alan, 32, injured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and worked with Scott, 30, on his recovery.

Alan explained to Guinness World Records, ” “We spent the best part of a Jersey summer travelling around the island, eating Jersey soft-serve ice creams. Hardly a chore! That’s where the outfit idea came from, but the marathon was just one run out of many in my challenge to run 2022 km (1256.4 mi) in 2022, raising funds and awareness for a local charity called the Grace Crocker Family Support Foundation, who provide emotional and financial support for Jersey families with children who require medical care off-island.”

Guinness World Records’ Twitter account tweeted the breaking news.

Scott ran his first marathon on October 2, 2022, not Alan. Alan claims that even though he was a novice, he couldn’t have finished it that day without Scott’s assistance along the way.

They have no plans to run any more marathons at the moment, but Alan says they’ll keep an eye on the Guinness World Records website in case someone beats them.
