Did you know there’s an ant with a head so big it can close its home with it?

These “Door Head Ants,” according to the storey, are actually Soldier Ants with a head the size of their colony’s gate.

The Cephalotus or turtle ant, which has a spherical, dome-shaped, slightly larger head and is generally as huge as a door, is one of two varieties of ants. These ants put themselves at risk because the entrance to their colony attracts other invading insects.

The ant’s house door appears to be locked in the image, but the ant’s head is visible next to it. Only working ants are capable of keeping their home safe.
