We’re all crying because of a touching story about a reunion after the partition. Two brothers, Sika Khan, who is an Indian citizen, and Sadiq Khan, who is a Pakistani citizen, for the first time since 1947, when they were split up because of the Partition.

Sika Khan was only six months old when he and his older brother Sadiq Khan were split up during the partition. This happened after the British ended their rule over India. Partition happened 75 years ago, and this year is the first time the two countries have met.

During that time, there was a lot of violence, and the father and sister of the brothers were killed in communal massacres. Sadiq Khan, who was only 10 years old, was able to get to Pakistan.

As Sadiq Khan khan said, “My mother could not bear the trauma and jumped into the river and killed herself, … I was left at the mercy of villagers and some relatives who brought me up.”

All these years, he’s been trying to find his brother. Three years ago, a doctor in the area offered to help. Sika and Sadiq were reunited after many phone calls and with the help of Pakistani YouTuber Nasir Dhillon.

In January, the brothers finally met at the Kartarpur corridor. This is a rare crossing where Indian Sikh pilgrims can go to a temple in Pakistan without a visa.

And then Sika stated, “I am from India and he is from Pakistan, but we have so much love for each other, … We hugged and cried so much when we met for the first time. The countries can keep on fighting. We don’t care about India-Pakistan politics.”

Nasir Dhillon is a farmer and real estate agent in Pakistan. He and his friend Bhupinder Singh have used his YouTube channel to help bring 300 families back together.
