The King Cobra, the world’s longest-deadly snake, is a fearful species that avoid locations where humans live. However, as more woods are cleared for commercial and industrial areas, conflicts between humans and animals will only worsen.

A King Cobra raised its body and stretched its hood in a horrifying video, surprising internet users with its gigantic height. Susanta Nanda of the Indian Forest Service (IFS) shared a video of a King Cobra standing on top of a muddy slope with its hood raised high. Its lengthy tail laid on the ground as it focused on one location.

The viral video was captioned by an IFS officer,  “The king cobra can literally “stand up” and look at a full-grown person in the eye. When confronted, they can lift up to a third of its body off the ground.”
