Doctors and nutritionists encourage us to eat fresh green vegetables and fruits for excellent health and critical nourishment. We choose the freshest-looking veggies and fruits and devour them with the confidence that we are consuming the best food items for our overall health. Along with all of this, we’ve heard of food contamination and adulteration, including pulses, fruits, cereals, milk, and cheese.

The video we’re sharing with you reveals how chemicals are used to “produce” fresh-looking vegetables. The video shows a man dipping a wad of dry and dull vegetable leaves into a bucket filled with a dark-colored liquid, then taking it out and placing it on top of a basket. The dry and lifeless leaves begin to blossom and turn fresh and green after a few moments.

Amit Thadhani @amitsurg tweeted the video with the comment, “A two minute real life horror story. 😱”

Take a look at the video:

The video has gotten a lot of attention and comments. I’m going to share a few with you.

As one of the users wrote, “Chemicals such as copper sulfate, rhodamine oxide, malachite green and calcium carbide are used for this.” Another user wrote, “Which chemical is that?”

A third person wrote, “It is nothing to do with chemical, it is characteristic of Sarso bhaji. U can try it in home also with normal water. Agar sarso bhaji murjha jaye toh thode der paani mein rakh dena, phir khil jayegi.”

A fourth user commented, “None of this is sarson and if you know Marathi, you would understand what he’s saying. It’s a comparison between dipping in normal water (does nothing) and dipping in this chemical which makes the veggies swell up.”

Another wrote, “We living in dangerous times 😅🙏” Another user wrote, “What is the chemical?”

As someone else said, “Never seen such magical potion or heard about it before..Which type of solution is this, and which company is making it. Vegetable producers & sellers will make huge amount from the use of it. But it’s safety for consumption remains the topic for research.”
