Authorities in Kansas are on the lookout for the owner of a 15-foot yellow snake that unexpectedly appeared at a resident’s home. The Andover Police Department took to Facebook to share a photo of the large snake, suspected to be an albino Burmese python, slithering beneath the stairs outside the house.

In their post, the police department humorously noted that while officers are accustomed to dealing with four-legged escape artists covered in fur, this bright yellow 15-foot creature added a unique twist to their day. The snake is believed to be an escaped pet, highlighting the importance of responsible ownership and ensuring the secure containment of exotic animals.

Efforts are underway to locate the owner of the snake and safely return it to its proper habitat. Authorities are reminding pet owners of the necessity to properly secure enclosures to prevent animals from escaping and potentially posing a threat to both humans and local wildlife.

The presence of such a large reptile in a residential area can be unsettling for residents. The police’s swift response to the situation demonstrates their commitment to ensuring public safety and resolving unusual incidents promptly.

As the search for the snake’s owner continues, residents are advised to remain cautious and report any sightings or information that could aid the authorities in locating the rightful owner and ensuring the well-being of the snake.
