A scary video of a spider leaping from its burrow to protect its meal has surfaced.

In amateur video, a cameraman appears to be trying to remove a maggot, but instead, a huge spider follows the larva outside.

On Facebook, the video has already received over 11 million views and close to 55,000 shares.

Because of the video’s intriguing title, “Wait for it,” viewers have started tagging their gullible friends in the comments without giving them any heads up about what’s in store.

In response, some have bemoaned their inability to sleep; one watcher even mentioned that she would have to spend the night in the bathtub.

Some have simply expressed their fury, laced with profanity, at their friends’ inciting of arachnophobia.
