James “Murr” Murray, known for his humor on Impractical Jokers, discovered love as real as his laughter with his wife, Melyssa Murray. Their story began in 2018 at the launch party for James’ first book, Awakened. James felt it was love at first sight, saying, “I never thought I would get married, I never thought I wanted to get married. And I met Melyssa, and it was instantly different. I knew I was going to marry her.”

James and Melyssa Murray have a unique engagement story. Originally planning to propose in Turks and Caicos, they had to change plans due to Hurricane Dorian. James improvised and proposed at their newly purchased home with a picnic and Scrabble board. Melyssa accepted, marking the start of their marital journey.

After the wedding, they had a dreamy honeymoon in the Maldives, exploring the beauty of Soneva Jani. Melyssa, known for her comedic moments on social media, often featuring James, also enjoys parenthood with their furry friend, Penelope Murray.

In 2019, Melyssa Murray started a business named WithoutTheRoots, later changed to No. 95, that sells special candles and home items. Recently, the couple held a successful fundraiser for the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, a cause they deeply care about because of James’ father’s struggle with Alzheimer’s.
