Who is Tommy Lee? All You Need To Know About Him!
Thomas Lee Bass, also known as Tommy Lee, was born on October 3, 1962, in Athens, Greece. He is a Greek-American famous as the drummer for the hard rock band Mötley Crüe. Lee’s initial successful band, Suite 19, was in Los Angeles during the early ’80s.
During that time, he met Nikki Sixx, his future bandmate, who persuaded Lee to leave Suite 19. Sixx was forming a theatrical band focused on anthemic heavy metal, impressed by Lee’s playing, and they started playing together, forming Mötley Crüe.
The band quickly gained a strong fan base and released their debut album, “Too Fast for Love,” in 1981 on their independent label, Leathür Records. Shortly after, Elektra Records signed the band, reissuing their debut in 1982. Mötley Crüe then released a series of hit albums throughout the decade, including “Shout at the Devil” (1983), “Theater of Pain” (1985), “Girls, Girls, Girls” (1987), and “Dr. Feelgood” (1989), solidifying the quartet as one of the biggest hard rock/metal bands of the ’80s.
In 1984, Tommy Lee married Elaine Starchuk, but they divorced within a month. Then, in 1986, he married actress Heather Locklear, and they divorced in 1993 after Lee’s involvement with porn actress Debi Diamond. In 1995, he married actress Pamela Anderson, and they had two children, Brandon Thomas (born July 5, 1996) and Dylan Jagger (born December 29, 1997).
One of Lee’s notable incidents occurred with Anderson when a private video of them on vacation, featuring their intimate moments, was stolen in 1997. The tape circulated widely, becoming one of the early instances of nude celebrities on the Internet.
Anderson and Lee divorced in 1998, and he served four months in prison after pleading no contest to kicking Anderson in the back. They briefly reunited upon his release.
Tommy Lee supports animal rights and PETA, recently donating autographed drumsticks to support PETA’s campaign against Kentucky Fried Chicken. He also made jokes about his sex tape with Pam in a lighthearted manner when he was featured on Comedy Central’s Pamela Anderson show.
In a complaint submitted on Friday in Los Angeles and reported by Rolling Stone, a woman known as Jane Doe has accused Tommy Lee of assault. The allegation stems from an incident in 2003 when she claims to have been “lured” by Lee’s pilot, David Martz. The lawsuit alleges that the rock star forcibly groped, kissed, and penetrated her with his fingers, attempting to coerce her into performing oral sex during the mentioned trip.
The woman stated that she encountered pilot David Martz in early 2002 at a San Diego bank where she was employed as a teller. Martz extended an invitation for her to join him for a helicopter ride, leading her to believe it would be a tour around San Diego County.
The lawsuit alleges, “Within a matter of minutes of being airborne, Martz pulled out alcohol he had stored in the helicopter and began to mix drinks”.
The woman stated that Martz offered her a drink, which she refused. She alleged that both Martz and Lee consumed alcohol, smoked marijuana, and used cocaine during the helicopter flight. At one moment, she claimed Martz questioned her through the helicopter’s headphone system about not drinking and advised her to just relax.
Jane Doe mentioned that Martz instructed her to go to the cockpit and sit on Lee’s lap for a better view. However, once there, Lee allegedly started groping and kissing her. When she tried to pull away, he reportedly became even more forceful.
“At one point, Lee penetrated plaintiff with his fingers while fondling her breasts. Lee then pulled down his pants and attempted to force plaintiff’s head toward his genitals. By this point, plaintiff was in tears, but she had nowhere to go — she was trapped with little mobility to leave the cockpit,” the lawsuit alleges.
The woman also stated that Martz, the pilot, observed the alleged assault and did not intervene or communicate with her during their return flight to San Diego after dropping off Lee in Van Nuys.
Note: If you or someone you know is dealing with domestic violence, assault, or abuse, please seek assistance from a mental health professional, NGO, or talk to someone about it. There are various helplines available for support.
