When officers arrived, they found Chen inside the home on his knees with his hands up and unresponsive. He was taken into custody, and the victim was discovered in the bedroom with severe head injuries. Chen had signs of physical trauma, including a swollen hand and blood on his clothes. He has been charged with murder and might face imprisonment if convicted. Chen’s arraignment, initially postponed, is now scheduled for this afternoon in San Jose.

District Attorney Jeff Rosen highlighted the seriousness of domestic violence and urged those at risk to contact local law enforcement. Despite a decline in domestic violence deaths, increased 911 calls indicate an ongoing issue. Rosen assured individuals in such situations that help is available.
