When they initially met, the ex-makeup artist wasn’t aware of who the Backstreet Boys singer was. AJ McClean and Rochelle Deanna McLean (formerly Karidis) are now going their own ways.

The couple met for the first time in 2008 when she worked as a waitress at a restaurant in Los Angeles. AJ, born Alexander James McLean, mentioned that Rochelle wasn’t aware of his celebrity status, and they started dating in the next year. Skipping to January 2010, he proposed after a solo show in Las Vegas, and they got married in December 2011.

AJ and Rochelle met for the first time in 2008 when she worked as a waitress in a Los Angeles restaurant. However, they didn’t start dating right away and went on their first date a year later.

AJ and Rochelle got married on December 17, 2011, in a gothic-themed ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hotel. They said their vows under a gazebo adorned with white hydrangeas, surrounded by family and friends. The singer proposed the year before, on his 32nd birthday, after a solo concert in Las Vegas.

The couple has two daughters: Elliott, who was born in 2012, and Lyric, born in 2017.

Initially named Ava at birth, Elliott changed her name in 2021. The next year, Rochelle shared details about her daughter’s choice.

Shortly after celebrating their 11th wedding anniversary in March 2023, the couple revealed that they had decided to live separately as they were no longer together.

Rochelle has been there for AJ in his career with the Backstreet Boys and has been involved in the band’s exciting plans for 2025.
