Sadie Slater, a 21-year-old woman from California, got into serious trouble when she was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department for allegedly stealing a French bulldog named Onyx. The incident, caught on camera and shared online, grabbed widespread attention.

Sadie is accused of robbing Onyx from its owner, Ali Zacharias, while she was eating outside on January 18. Sadie allegedly snatched Onyx, put it in a car driven by someone else, and sped off, causing Zacharias minor injuries as she tried to stop the car.

The LAPD arrested Sadie in Inglewood on January 3, 2024, in connection to the incident, setting her bail at $70,000. Concerns arose about Onyx’s well-being, but it’s unclear if the French bulldog has been found or returned.

The frightening event occurred around 2:30 p.m. on January 18, with Slater attempting to steal Onyx. Slater grabbed Onyx’s leash, ignored Zacharias, and fled with the dog, jumping into a waiting car. Despite Zacharias’ pleas for help, no one intervened as the alleged thieves locked the car doors.
