Ameen Sayani, a well-known radio host famous for his show Binaca Geetmala, passed away at 91 in Mumbai due to a heart attack on February 20. He had been unwell for some time and had high blood pressure and back problems.

Sayani had a remarkable career in radio, starting in the 1950s. His famous greeting, “Namaskar bhaiyon aur behno, main aapka dost Ameen Sayani bol raha hoon,” made him widely recognized.

His show Binaca Geetmala was a hit from the 1950s to the 1990s and was later revived.

Sayani hosted over 54,000 radio shows and voiced around 19,000 jingles, earning him a place in the Limca Book of Records.
