Ali Wong and her ex-husband, Justin Hakuta, finalized their divorce in May 2024 but have maintained a close friendship. The Beef actress met Hakuta at a friend’s wedding in 2010, and they married in San Francisco on November 27, 2014. They have two daughters, Mari (born 2015) and Nikki (born 2017).

In April 2022, they announced their separation after eight years of marriage, citing an amicable split and plans to co-parent lovingly. Wong filed for divorce in December 2023, and despite the separation, they remain close. Wong even thanked Hakuta in her 2024 Golden Globes acceptance speech for Best Actress in a Limited Series.

Hakuta, a Fulbright scholar and Harvard MBA graduate, is the son of famed TV inventor Ken Hakuta. Over the years, Wong has humorously referenced their relationship in her stand-up specials, including jokes about their prenup.

Despite the divorce, Wong and Hakuta have emphasized their strong friendship, with Wong describing their post-divorce relationship as “best friends.” Their commitment to co-parenting and mutual support remains evident, showcasing a respectful and amicable separation.
