Meet GloRilla, the American rapper who’s been making waves in the music industry. Born Gloria Hallelujah Woods, she’s quickly climbed the ranks with a net worth of $2 million. Her breakout year was 2022, with the release of hit singles like “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” “Tomorrow 2,” and “Blessed” from her debut EP, “Anyways, Life’s Great.” GloRilla has continued to shine with her 2024 mixtape “Ehhthang Ehhthang” and collaborations with several big-name artists.
Born on July 28, 1999, in Memphis, Tennessee, GloRilla had a unique start in life. She was homeschooled until fifth grade, and later attended Martin Luther King Jr. College Preparatory High School. It was during her high school years that she discovered her passion for rapping, setting the stage for her future career.
GloRilla’s music journey kicked off in earnest with the self-release of her first mixtape, “Most Likely Up Next,” in 2019, followed by her EP, “P Status,” in 2020. Her major breakthrough came in 2022 with “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” a viral hit on TikTok thanks to her collaboration with producer Hitkidd. This track’s success led to a popular remix featuring Latto and JT. She continued to climb the charts with “Tomorrow,” which was included on the Collective Music Group’s “Gangsta Art” album. The song’s remix, “Tomorrow 2” featuring Cardi B, became her biggest hit, reaching number nine on the Billboard Hot 100.
In late 2022, GloRilla released her debut commercial EP, “Anyways, Life’s Great,” which reached number 11 on the Billboard 200 and earned a BET Award nomination. Her 2024 mixtape, “Ehhthang Ehhthang,” also saw success, bolstered by singles like “Yeah Glo!” and “Wanna Be,” a collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion. This track climbed to number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number five on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. GloRilla has also collaborated with artists like Hitkidd, Duke Deuce, Ciara, Latto, Moneybagg Yo, Don Toliver, G Herbo, and YTB Fatt.
GloRilla’s talents extend beyond music. In 2023, she appeared in the Hulu series “RapCaviar Presents” and VH1’s “Wild ‘n Out.” However, her career was marred by a tragic incident in February 2023, when a stampede occurred at her concert in Rochester, New York. Triggered by fears of gunfire, the chaos resulted in three deaths and several injuries, leading to the venue’s indefinite closure.
