In May 2020, Dwight Yoakam and Emily Joyce announced their marriage, revealing they had been dating since 2010 and engaged for several years. The couple wed in March 2020 at St. Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica, just before the COVID-19 quarantine. Their intimate ceremony had fewer than ten attendees, all seated at least six feet apart.

Emily Joyce is a photographer known for her work exhibited in Los Angeles and her photos of Yoakam. She received a birthday tribute from Yoakam in November 2019, where he expressed his love and gratitude.

The couple welcomed their first child, Dalton Loren, in August 2020. Yoakam’s team announced the birth on Instagram with photos of a pregnant Joyce.

The couple’s relationship has largely stayed out of the public eye, though they have made several public appearances together, including the 2019 GQ Men of the Year After Party and the Grammy Awards in 2017.
