Andy García, the acclaimed actor known for roles in “The Godfather Part III,” “Ocean’s Eleven,” and “Father of the Bride,” married his wife, Marivi Lorido García, in September 1982.
The couple’s love story began in the mid-’70s when they met at a Miami nightclub while both were students at Florida International University. For Andy, it was love at first sight. He proposed to Marivi on the night they met, and after seven years of dating, they tied the knot.
Both Andy and Marivi have Cuban roots, with their families fleeing to Miami from Cuba during the Cuban Revolution. This shared heritage has been a cornerstone of their relationship.
Professionally, the couple has collaborated on various projects. Marivi, a film producer, and Andy own CineSon Entertainment, a production company that has released several films, including “Just the Ticket” in 1998 and “City Island” in 2009.
Their enduring marriage has produced four children: Dominik, Daniella, Alessandra, and Andrés. The family often shares their close bond on social media. Alessandra, for instance, posted a nostalgic photo of the family at the American Music Awards in 2019.
Marivi is known for her love of Disney, often celebrating Mother’s Day at Disneyland. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family recreated a Disney experience at home, complete with a tea party inspired by “Alice in Wonderland.” In 2022, they resumed their annual Disneyland trips, continuing their beloved family tradition.
Andy and Marivi’s story is one of love, partnership, and shared success both personally and professionally, highlighting a strong bond that has lasted over four decades.
