Daniel Zovatto, star of Woman of the Hour, credits his early love for movies and inspiration from Leonardo DiCaprio for his acting career. Growing up in Costa Rica, he fell in love with films, thanks in part to trips to Blockbuster with his father.

Acting Inspiration of Daniel Zovatto

As a child, Daniel watched movies like What’s Eating Gilbert Grape and Basketball Diaries. He was fascinated by DiCaprio’s performances and realized he wanted to act too. His mother, a local talk show host, also inspired him with her connection to the camera. Daniel started taking acting classes and eventually moved to New York to pursue his dreams.

Challenging New Role

In Woman of the Hour, Daniel plays Rodney Alcala, a chilling figure who appeared on a dating show in 1978. The role is both sweet and menacing, requiring him to switch between emotions quickly. Working with Anna Kendrick, who directed the film, he found the role to be an exciting challenge.

Future Aspirations

Daniel, who has been acting for ten years, feels he’s just getting started. He hopes to work on animated family films so his eight-month-old daughter can enjoy his work. A big fan of Pixar movies, he dreams of creating stories that will entertain her in the future. Woman of the Hour is now available on Netflix.
