The emotional news broke when a man named Muhammad Asif, who was kidnapped in 1992, finally found his way back to his family. Asif was just two years old when a woman abducted him from Bari Imam during a visit with his mother and maternal relatives.

The mother revealed that she had originally named her son Muhammad Siddique, but the kidnappers changed his name to Muhammad Asif. They mistreated him and forced him to live with another kidnapped child, whom he believed to be his “brother.” At the age of 10, he escaped from the kidnappers’ house due to ongoing abuse and made his way to Bhalwal. A former advocate and his family took him in, provided him with education, and helped him build an independent life.

Wali Ullah Maroof, the Imam of a mosque in Karachi, leads a network of like-minded individuals dedicated to reuniting separated families. When Asif reached out to him for help, Maroof and his team began searching for his biological family. After thorough efforts, they successfully matched him with his parents. A DNA test confirmed their relationship as father and son. Thanks to Wali Ullah Maroof’s efforts, the family has finally reunited.
