A new system of monsoon arising in Pakistan from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.

Heavy rains expected in various parts of the country, including Karachi, over the next few days.

The rain system will enter several areas of Sindh, including Karachi, from August 9 to 11, according to Meteorological Department.

Friday’s rains in Karachi may continue for up to 4 days, while the city will be at risk of urban flooding.

According to the Meteorological Department, rains are expected in Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, and Faisalabad, which will lead to flooding drains and canals.

Rainfall is also expected in Bahawalpur, Sukkur, Larkana and Shaheed Benazirbad divisions.

During the last 24 hours, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Malakand, Peshawar, Zhob, Multan, DG Khan, Sargodha, and Sahiwal divisions have received light showers with a gust of winds.
