At least sixteen persons were killed, several 149 left injured as a deadly typhoon of 8-year Japanese history ‘Hagibis’ has approached Tokyo bay.

Other sixteen people are reportedly found missing, rescue operations are underway.

According to an International news agency, the storm has weakened after it approached the bay but it still remains highly dangerous.

According to statistics, 80,000 people seek refuge in temporary shelters in Tokyo, while the rest four million people are deprived from electricity.

Winds between 100 and 130 kph are expected to lash southern Japan, including Tokyo, for most of the mid-morning through evening. Up to 200 millimeters of rainfall is also predicted to cause flooding.
